The CN Rail Bridge Prince George BC

The CN Rail Bridge is a truss bridge over the Fraser River. It was built in 1914 by the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. It was designed to open and let Paddle Wheeler ship to pass under it. Until recently it was used as both Trains and Motor Vehicle Bridge with the train in the middle and cars on both sides (not fun when icy). To my knowledge it has only been open once, shortly after being built. This bridge was vital to the growth of Prince George and the BC interior forest industry. If anyone has more information on this wonderful bridge please comment or email me.
